Cyclothon
Event Description
Cyclothon is a closed event planned exclusively for volunteers of an organisation . This initiative will extend support to underserved tribal areas. The cyclothon can be integrated with a clean up drive as well. As part of this effort, for every five participants attending the event, one bicycle will be donated to a girl child from the tribal community of that geographical presence.
Objectives
- Foster a healthy, inclusive, and engaging corporate environment through a fitness initiative.
- Mobilize corporate participation to clean the surrounding and provide mobility solutions for tribal girls, aiding education and reducing dropouts.
- Highlight mobility challenges of tribal girls and promote gender-inclusive development.
- Offer tenant companies a platform to support a cause aligned with CSR and employee volunteering.
Role of Volunteers
Volunteers not skilled in riding bicycles
- Support event setup including start/finish line, branding, hydration stations, and medical camps.
- Manage participant registration, check-in counters, and kit distribution.
- Act as route marshals ensuring safety, guiding volunteers
- Facilitate beneficiary coordination, welcoming tribal girl recipients and ensuring their comfort.
- Provide on-ground logistics support, including refreshments and crowd management.
- Assist medical teams and emergency response units during the event.
Volunteers skilled in riding bicycles
- In addition to the above listed responsibilities
- Participate in the cyclothon run
Expected Outcomes
- Promotes social responsibility and employee well-being.
- Bicycle distribution to improve school access, cut travel time, and boost attendance and retention.
- Enhanced credibility and visibility for companies as champions of inclusive, grassroots development.
- Last-mile delivery model to reach the most remote and underserved tribal/rural girls effectively.
